Michele Dowson – MICHT, MIIHHT
Michele is a fully experienced massage therapist having practised locally for up to 14 years after qualifying and gaining NVQs in Body Massage and Aromatherapy Massage and a Diploma in Indian Head Massage.
Michele is a member of the FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists), whose requirements are to continually update knowledge and skills by completing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses and seminars, thus further gaining Diplomas in Advanced Indian Head Massage and Injury Prevention Massage (IPM), which is a technique using pressure with forearms and elbows.
Michele has worked within an Osteopathic Health Clinic and the Hambleton Leisure Centre for 12 years treating osteopath referrals and regular gym users or athletes by applying deep massage to areas of muscular tension and repetitive strain injuries creating friction, stretching and using tapotement movements as in Swedish massage. These movements warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle “knots” or adhesions, promoting a feeling of relaxation and immediate relief for the client.
Michele has always had a keen interest in the holistic approach to treating her clients by listening and understanding their needs and has worked with elderly clients in care homes using soft flowing massage techniques whilst seated for their comfort and ease. She offers home visits for those you are unable to attend the clinic.

Aromatherapy / Body Massage and Indian Head Massage is available on Wednesday: 1.30pm – 5.30pm.
