EFT is a modern emotional healing technique utilising certain acupuncture points – but without the needles! It is often called ‘psychological acupressure’ as it combines acupressure with modern psychology. Instead of using needles we gently tap on the acupressure meridians (where the energy channels in our body end) whilst focusing the mind on a troubling health or personal issue.
EFT forms a bridge between talk therapies and body therapies. It works on the understanding that our thoughts about ourselves, our experiences and circumstances can disrupt the energy system in our bodies and that this disruption can cause negative reactions. Blockages in our energy system affect us emotionally and physically and EFT breaks the psychological response.
EFT can change the way we perceive our memories or traumatic events, by releasing the emotional hold they have on us. It is a process of releasing energy blocks in our system caused by negative past events.
EFT is far speedier than conventional talking therapies alone.
